The tent book: Petya Kokudeva

27 June 2019
Two years ago she returned from a long journey not with a handful of small souvenirs, but with a bunch of recorded stories. Now Petya, a children books' writer and copywriter, puts them together in a book that starts with the chronology: how with her boyfriend Georgi, after long planning, put together two backpacks, a tent and an old car, which somewhere on the route will be handed over for old iron; and how 9 months they go around Europe, starting from Scandinavia, and ending in New Zealand. But this is just the introduction to Greetings from the Blue Tent - the real part is fragments of animal encounters, conversations with people and the exchange of ideas about the world. While the book (with photographs from Georgi) is about to come out of print, we meet Petya one early morning to talk about the distant countries, the power of the memory, and why it is not exactly courage what is needed for such a trip.
