Behind the lens of Alexander Stanishev

"I'm 37, nothing to look like, 22," Alexander says, as he tries to remember what year he's been accepted at NATFA for the second try. To this day, he is very ashamed that he shot a chalga music video in his third year, and his first major project is the Hashove series directed by Alexander Morfov.

From there, Stanishev turned the camera on for many Bulgarian series and films, even Katie Holmes looked at his camera, and lastly, he boasts about the Secret Life of V that went through Sundance and Berlinale this year. After we caught him shooting the video for Hope for the Underrated Youth by Yungblud, we decided it was about time we put him under the spotlights, asking him about the superpower his camera gives him. While Alexander tells us that he is breathing through frames and exhales in photography, his Forever Autumn exhibition is at the bar Friday until October 7 - sit down to look through his lens there.
