• 100 Beers

    29 January 2015

How two boys start 100beers.bg? The idea is born in 2013, when, after tasting yet another interesting beer, Ristislav decides that it is high time Sofia also had a place that offers a wide selection of beers. A month later, 100beers.bg is a fact - thanks to the web developer Vestimir, who joins the enterprise. Another year rolls by and their beers number way over 100 and the shop has two offline addresses - 26 Yurii Venelin Str. and 31 Zlatovrah Str. in Sofia.

We've known the designer Mila Ateva for a long time. She's known the man by her side, Vasil Poleganov, a long time. The Sassa Bjorg brand is a yet another thread that binds them together. Their work brings them everyday pleasure and makes way for a common future.
  • To Meet WhATA

This New Year's kick-off was a good one - we struck a new friendship with people who can tell a good building from a bad one. And we met over a glass of wine and sweets. Not bad at all!

The biggest wine exhibit in the country Divino Taste is this weekend. The spotlight is on the Bulgarian brands. This gave us enough reason to meet up with one of the owners of Grape Central, the wine place in Sofia, Efrosiya Blagoeva, over a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The talk gave us food for thought and made us remember at least three things. To always taste before we drink, to share our wine if we want to feel closer to people and when in Rome to do as the Romans do - drink Proseco!

If you happen to pass by Lyuben Karavelov Str., make sure to slacken your pace at number 7. Chekmedzhe (or Drawer) is the warmest place in town - because of its home-made drinks, the friendly encounters and the fluffy knitwear made by two girls with a subtle taste for life.

Four years he almost missed the bus for Germany. The driver wouldn't let him get on because of the army of cartoon look-likes of the Yeti monster that he carried with him. "Better try and hitchhike a truck," the sulky driver advised him. Yet, with silent persistence, Peter managed to secure himself a seat (though not by the window) and to get on time for one of the biggest sports exhibits in the world, IPSO Munich - the venue where he showcased his latest invention -  the Small Foot inflatable snowshoes.

    23 October 2014

    by Geri Turiyska

Adelina has the knack to create micro societies. These are cozy places for alternative people that have always had  the burning need to belong to a place of "their own". She was the mastermind behind Radio Cafe for a couple of years. Now Adelina Kasparyanova has created a new city hub - the conceptual shop Stari Gradski (Urban Retro) where her personal taste continues to inspire us.

Mariya Ilieva is one of those spirited people who never feel bored. Not because they`re in their comfort zone, but because they never stop looking for it. Mariya`s passions have now found their ultimate incarnation - the French grocery Gastronome.
  • Branimir Yotov and his Aerographics

    10 November 2011

    text Claudine Gendova

The first instrument to be named the "airbrush" was developed by Abner Peeler "for the painting of watercolors and other artistic purposes" and used a hand-operated compressor. It was rather crude, being based on a number of spare parts in a jeweller's workshop such as old screwdrivers and welding torches. It took 4 years of further development before a truly practical device was developed. Enough with history. Nowadays there is an artist who can use airbrush for whatever comes in mind. His name is Branimir Yotov.
