To debut on stage with The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh is scary, because you always take the risk of drowning when you jump in deep waters. This play is a shocking story about human nature which requires worldly knowledge, analytical mind and flawless intuition. What is more – Yavor Gardev’s version in Varna is one of the most shaking and impressive achievements in Bulgarian theatre for the last decade. Third – a diploma work seldom has the chance of competing with the standard plays at Rakovska. The good news is that the crew of the first premiere of the Satirical theatre gets over all these obstacles with ease.
