This Bulgarian opera, written by Pavel Spasov in 1957, is inspired by the life of the artist and revivalist Zachary Zograf and, although it does not follow his biography quite accurately, tells of his tragic romance with his brother's wife.

It is interesting, however, that Plamen Kartalov invites Zornitsa Sofia for the production, who we know for the same role, but from the cinema. Perhaps that is why today it requires actors to be natural, which is the most important thing in common among great artists: to believe their story, whether they tell it on stage or on screen.
