Relationships between people, simple household objects, and randomly-heard conversations are three of the things that most often inspire her. She's sad she can't find the time to set up Behance and Dribbble accounts as well, but her Instagram profile with quick drawings made for fun was enough to attract us.

    text Natalia Ivanova

Would you listen to an artist telling the stories behind his work as if you were in his living room? If so, go to the next meeting Something new, something old, something borrowed, something blue. The last one (with Sevda Semer in the Structure gallery) focused our attention on the organizer Stefka Tsaneva, whose name we constantly hear. Let's hear her voice now.

text Natalia Ivanova photo Dessislava Mileva

It's clear that the first ten years are important to everyone but they're even more important when educating others. This is what we think while celebrating the annieversary of the Open Arts Foundation which since 2004 (or 2008 officially) has changed the environment in Plovdiv and Sofia with events beyond the previous order - from meetings in artnewscafe and exhibitions at Sariev Gallery to the Night of Museums and Galleries, Otetz Paisii festival, the lectures Introduction to Contemporary Art and the Austrian Culture Pavillion FLUCA (since 2016).

    3 May 2018

    text Violeta Ivanova

He's been in love with drawing since he was 3 years old but when as a teenager he discovered his passion for heavy metal the pieces clicked together perfectly. That was in the mid 90s when in his native post-communist Romania it was hard to find original albums in the genre and Costin collected bootleg cassettes with ugly photocopied covers. That's why he started drawing new ones. And he was so good at it that music related art quickly became his career.

  • In a car with Iskra Blagoeva

    19 April 2018

text Natalia Ivanova photos Mihail Novakov

Once she goes to Egypt, she turns into a small street and enters a "male" café, where she can hardly ever sit freely. Not only that, but she even calls a waiter, orders hookahs, tea and dominoes, and tells him to find her someone to play with. A few minutes later, everyone is already at her table. If you're wondering why we are telling this story, Iskra Blagoeva's art is exactly the same - she is not a "militant" feminist, but she is surely provocative about the place of women today making installations, objects, paintings and performances.
