Where is the art?

15 September 2020
2020 proved to be a strange year in more than one way - both globally and locally. The protests in Bulgaria raise questions about politics, freedom, the future. But also about art. "Where does it stand today? What should be the role of artists in the political debate? ”, asks the Goethe-Institut and thus starts a poster competition Where is art?.

The competition focuses on works on the theme of protest as a free form of expression, on democratic values and on the role of art in politics. Artists of all ages and genres from Bulgaria and Germany can participate with drawing, illustration, graphics, photography or poetry. The Goethe-Institut will select 5 of the submitted works to print them in 250 copies and distribute them outdoors in Sofia in early October. For their authors, of course, there will be a prize - BGN 200.

Applications should be sent by September 27 to stefka.tsaneva@goethe.de and your emails should include:
