A week ago, we wondered if we needed another film adaptation of an often-filmed book past the lavish Little Women, and here's the compulsive question going back to the one about Jane Austen's novel, filmed a decade ago, or with Gwyneth Paltrow in 1996.

However, director Otam De Wild gives the title Emma-and-Dot - apparently the last word on the acutely ironic comedy, though it doesn't really do anything particularly exciting with the familiar story. It is about rich 21-year-old Emma Woodhouse, who, due to a lack of other interests, becomes a match-maker in her small town. She doesn't make plans to marry herself, but to continue taking care for her father.
