We do not serve this title for the first time: after Dutch writer Herman Koch's novel came out and won a bunch of awards in 2009, his controversial film adaptation with Richard Gere, Rebecca Hall and Steve Coogan (directed by Oren Muverman) arrived here at the CineLibri festival in 2017.

That is why it does not surprise us that the production of this intense chamber thriller is included in the accompanying program of the same festival, but this time with the direction of Plamen Markov. In it, the scene turns into the décor of an expensive restaurant, where two couples put their common problem on the table - their sons have committed a serious crime that will soon come to light. Until then, however, portions of them have been piling up with important questions that are beginning to weigh on us too: should we protect our children when they are guilty? And are we not responsible for their actions?
