Spain, Seville. The end of the 16th century. Don Miguel de Cervantes and his servant Sancho were thrown into prison by order of the Holy Inquisition. They are accused of crimes against the Church and will be questioned and eventually tried. In prison, however, they fall into the Prison Court.

These murderers, thieves, rapists, scammers, prostitutes and their tutor - the Governor, are having fun as "suing" every new prisoner. Of course, everyone is acknowledged to be "guilty" and they take away everything that can be robbed of him. Cervantes, however, has something as precious as his life - the manuscript of one of the greatest novels of all time - the famous Don Quixote de la Mancha. In the face of the danger of being taken away, Cervantes conceives an unusual, bold and shining move - wishing to defend himself by playing a comedy show on his novel about the incredibly funny adventures of mad knight Don Quixote and his loyal armor Sancho Panza.
