There is hardly a person on the planet who has not poured coffee from the pot, singing N.O.H.A.'s track Tu cafe. Of  course, the band has other cool tracks and after you heard them in Sofia, now you will have the possibility to see them four more times at the coast - in Varna, Nessebar, Sozopol and Lozenetz. So we contacted the band's vocalist MC Chevy for some more details

Two years ago the attractive Londoner Nikki Wright-McNeill establishes Global Publicity, a company for promoting and marketing and since then incessantly conquers Old and New Europe - mainly with nice festival music. We met her for a couple of minutes at the B'estfest in Bucharest - enough time for a few questions.

Called the Bulgarian Dead Can Dance or Isihia's successors, Irfan are undoubtedly a bright stream of light on our scene. These days Irfan are recording their third album and preparing for a concert in The Red House on 17 July. Kalin Iordanov, one of the band's ideologists, warned us that the line-up will be unusual.

The first association which jumps out in our minds when the name 1000 names is mentioned is Bulgarian electronic music for export. Behind the artistic nicknames Cassio Blaster and 99 Mistakes are hidden Margo and Niko - two Bulgarian producers and DJs.

The Man-Machine from Bronx is coming to Bulgaria for the third time. If you have not seen before Rahzel, the biggest beatboxer in the world, this time you have no excuse. Because of him now beatbox, the fifth element of hip hop, is a separate art form.

We have not event tried to define precisely Cynic's music - since 1987 the American combo has experimented with everything from thrash metal to saturated death metal with absolutely free improvisations. It is strange that Cynic are so famous right now - in 2008 they won applause with Traced in Air and now they are on tour with Dream Theater. Just ten days before their concert in Kavarna, vocalist Paul Masvidal told us a few things about playing in front of 20 000 people and the beauty of life as a whole.
  • The Silence of the Lambs

    text Anelia Aleksandrova

The cult band Lamb is united again - they do no promise more than a few live concerts this summer, but one of them is in Sofia - 20 June, the last day of the Park Live festival. And Lou is already eager to see the Bulgarian fans.

It is a Monday morning and in the corridors and studios of TV2 you can sense unusual excitement. There is a good reason for us to become a part of the whole mess - there are only about ten days remaining till the triple concert of Reviu, Hipodil and Control and a little before the last rehearsals we have a meeting with Vaso Giurov, Milena Slavova, Svetlio Vitkov and Kolio Gilana.

The nickname Cooh is well familiar along with the HMSU parties but we have heard very few things about Balkansky. In fact, both names belong to Ivan Shopov. Just 26, he has great success on the drum'n'bass stage, 35 records released by foreign labels and constants sets abroad.

Recently hip hop is not among the most popular genres in Bulgaria. But, fortunately, there are still people around who do it well - like Wosh MC, for example, who has just released his debut album, Animal.

Mark Foggo is English, but has lived in Amsterdam for such a long time that we accept him and his band The Skasters as pure Dutch product. The group is coming for Radio Tangra's second birthday and we called Mark to tell us what is he going to bring as a birthday present.

The jazz experimentators from De Phazz have always surprised us with some non-standard ideas and charge us with positive attitude and chillout sound. We are sure that their second live in Sofia will be at least as good as the first - that is what Pit Baumgartner, the main person in De Phazz, promised us.

There has not been a Bulgarian concert with such a store of energy for a long time - on 9 April in Blue Box we will see Animatsionerite, Panican Whyasker and Babyface Clan performing together. So we contacted the leaders of the three bands - Gurko, Nufri and Naso Ruskov, to have a talk about the romantic sides of showbusiness.
