Jazz Open Air

2 July 2009 text Mia Ianeva
In summer many people enjoy escaping in the coolness of the mountains and when there are occasions like the jazz fest in Smolyan, happiness is complete.

The two week jamboree in the heart of the Rhodopas starts on 9 July with Warsaw Village Band from Poland. The day after the stage will be occupied by American drummer Ralph Peterson. The second week of the festival will be under the sign of the guitar - OM's Nikolai Ivanov will present his new project Mahavira. But the final tune will be played at a height of 2188 metres above sea level on the peak of Perelik itself. Take a look at the full programme at julyjazzbg.com.

July Jazz Smolyan is in Smolyan, 9 to 25 July.
