Burgas Nights

Burgas Nights

30 July 2009 text Nikola Shahpazov
There are scores of good music reasons to go to Burgas in the next few weeks - there you can hear Bulgarian agro-alco-porn-punk, modern house from the UK or funky tracks about the New York mob king John Gotty.

John Digweed
Metropolis are aiming high as usual. Their big party on 7 August will take place on the beach and John Digweed himself will take care of your good mood. The UK producer, DJ and radio host is a main player on the house scene since the 1990s and has been in DJ Magazine's Top 10 for 10 years in a row (in 2001 he was #1).

Kontrol, Hipodil, Reviu and Ebanizm
We watched almost the same combination (without Ebanizm) in Sofia a few months ago. Noone hoped to see these three legendary bands together on stage again, but it seems that they liked the experience and will repeat the drill on 7 August.

Spirit of Burgas
The announcement of the second Spirit of Burgas' headliners was a bit slow, but now the most important things are clear. On 14 August Faitn No More will be on stage, followed by Fun Lovin Criminals on the next day. The Crystal Method and the Swedish rap metal machine Clawfinger will close the fest on 16 August. Besides the main stage, there are 6 smaller stages - among them the Go Dutch (with lots of underground Dutch bands), Na Tamno (with thematic nights - punk, hardcore, reggae, ska and Kosta Kostov), Zionlionz Roots, Dancehall & Dub Stage and the traditionally strong Jack Daniel's.
