Pilatus

6 October 2020 Magda Szabo
Pilatus is one of the admirable novels of the great Hungarian writer Magda Szabo. A fine story about the wandering of the soul through the labyrinths in which we live, and about the most saving feeling - love. The film adaptation of the book, directed by Linda Dombrovski, is part of the competition program of this year's edition of the Cinelibri International Book & Movie Festival.

Pilate (translation: Nelly Dimova) is not about the personal experiences of Magda Szabo, and isn't on historical topics. A central role in the story is played by the clever and modern, divorced doctor Iza Sjoch, who makes her widowed mother move to her house in Budapest.
