The Collector

25 February 2010 text Dima Chakarova, photographs Felya Baruh
Emy Baruh is associated with some major events in our cultural life, among which is Pablo Picasso's exhibition in 2008 which was visited by a record breaking number of people.

You live between Sofia and Madrid - what does this change of places give you?
Constant traveling makes you more tolerant and saves you from the uppish explicity of defining phrases.

What is the place you call home?
The place where I am usually  not. Where I want to get back.

We heard that Barouh and Partners are working together with London's Tate Gallery on a project to get a tapestry of Picasso's Guernika to Sofia?
We do not have a sponsor for this exhibition. Why not try to find it together?

What do you think of the cultural minister's idea of a Bulgarian Louvre?
Wonderful idea! And there is no better place than the one next to Vasil Levski's monument. In order to be alive,a museum must be close to the people, not in Boyana.
